Late Saturday morning, August 5th, officers with the Grants Pass Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 block of SW Isham after receiving reports of a shooting that had occurred at a residence just before 11:20 Saturday morning.
First responding officers found the victim lying in the residence’s front yard upon arrival and provided immediate lifesaving care to the victim, identified as 36 year old Travis Economy.
Economy was transported to the hospital by ambulance and succumbed to his injuries at the Three Rivers Medical Center.
After Grants Pass Police detectives and members of the Josephine County District Attorney’s Office responded to investigate the shooting, it was determined after the subsequent investigation, that the shooting had occurred during a disturbance at the residence.
The suspect, 22 year old Asa Krueger, was arrested and lodged at the Josephine County Jail on charges of 2nd Degree Murder and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
