Man Taken into Custody After Two Altercations at In-N-Out Burger in the Same Day

A Medford Police officer was alerted to an audible business alarm while on patrol very early Wednesday morning, December 14th, in the area of In-N-Out Burger located on Crater Lake Highway at approximately 3:40am.

While officers surveyed the area, a broken window and a male inside the In-N-Out Burger business was observed. The male, later identified as 23 year old Logan Carranza-Legarda, was arrested and lodged at the Jackson County Jail on criminal mischief and trespass charges.

Within hours after being released on the same day, Carranza-Legarda returned to In-N-Out Burger at approximately 12:40 p.m., and began throwing rocks into the business windows.

Carranza-Legarda had armed himself with a knife, entered the business, and menaced several people inside. The business was full of customers during the lunch hour just after noon, and the manager at In-N-Out, as well as the other employees and citizens inside the establishment, responded quickly, seeking shelter under tables and inside bathrooms, likely preventing any personal harm during this incident.

Officers responded quickly and took the male into custody without further incident.

There were no reported injuries, and Carranza-Legarda was transported to the Jackson County Jail where he was lodged on multiple charges including, Criminal Mischief I, Disorderly Conduct II, 6 counts of Reckless Endangering, 3 counts of Menacing, Trespass II, Theft III, as well as Violation of a Release Agreement.
