Man with 2 Pounds of Heroin Attempts to Elude Police

On October 21st, at approximately 4:30 am, Detectives from MADGE (Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement Team) stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of Motel 6. The vehicle they had stopped back up quickly striking one of the MADGE Vehicles and injuring an Officer.

The suspect vehicle then drove forward striking another vehicle and fled the parking lot. It then drove northbound through a couple of fences and through the Alba Baseball Fields.

When the vehicle could go no further, the male driver identified as Kevin Leroy Holt jumped out on foot and crossed Interstate 5. Multiple Medford Police units were in the area to assist and a K9 was deployed to track the suspect.

K9 Kylo tracked the suspect to the backyard of a house and located the suspect hiding inside a boat in the backyard. 38-year-old Kevin Leroy Holt was taken into custody without incident.

During a search of the surrounding area, Officers located over 2 lbs of Heroin that the suspect had attempted to conceal.

The suspect was transported to the Jackson County Jail where he was lodged on multiple charges to include-

Unlawful Possession of Heroin, Unlawful Delivery of Heroin, Unlawful Possession of Meth, Unlawful Delivery of Meth, Hit & Run (Property X3), Attempt to Elude-Vehicle, Attempt to Elude-Foot and Assault on a Police Officer.
