Motorcyclist Killed in Late Afternoon Crash

First responders, including Jackson County Sheriff’s Depuies and the Talent Police Department were dispatched to a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle on Wagner Creek Road in Talent.

Initial units arrived at a 90-degree blind corner on the road where a motorcycle had struck a vehicle, leaving the operator of the motorcycle, identified as 29 year old Matthew James Roberts, 29, of Ashland, with serious injuries, and immediately began rendering aid.

Preliminary investigation by the Jackson County Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction team and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Medical Examiner detectives, revealed that the 1996 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by Roberts, was traveling northbound on Wagner Creek Road when it left the lane of travel for unknown reasons and crashed into the front of the 2020 Volvo passenger vehicle.

The driver of the Volvo was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
