New Scoreboard Featured at TONIGHTS Bruin Football Home Opener

Throughout the year many in the community hear and participate in many BHHS Booster Club fundraisers, and rarely do donors get to see the results of their donations.

Well TONIGHT, the season home opener for the Brookings-Harbor Bruin football program will feature what your community donations and community labor paid for, as a brand new scoreboard will light up the stadium for the first time in at least 3 decades.

In what promises to be an exhibition of the excitement surrounding Coach Bavaro’s new football program, the Bruin football team will be sharing the spotlight with the bright lights of one of the 3 new electronic scoreboards recently purchased and installed on the baseball diamond, soccer field and of the course the football stadium.

The Brookings-Harbor High School Booster Club held their annual fundraiser dinner last winter to raise funds for the purchase of the 3 new scoreboards. The baseball and football scoreboards were reportedly at least 40 years old, and the soccer program had never had a scoreboard.

The Brookings-Harbor Booster Club, along with a group of volunteers spent over 8 hours last Saturday, September 15th bringing down the old scoreboard and installing the new one.

The Booster Club would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for always supporting the Boosters Club, the second district and in turn the students.

Also the Booster Club would like to recognize with a huge THANK YOU to the group of volunteers. This was a large project and would not have been able to be completed with out help from: Josh Bruce, Sage Bruce, Tommy Serna, Larry Austin, Jess Beaman, Daryn Farmer, Lloyd Alto, Dione Alto, Darryn Fleshman, Superintendent Sean Gallagher, and the District Finance Director.

The Bruin Football program and BHHS Booster Club would like to see a packed house tonight at the Bruins 2018 Home Opener against a strong Lakeview Honkers team to help bring in the new era of “Win Now” that new Coach Bavaro has instilled in his varsity squad.

Game time is 7:00pm TONIGHT.
