New Year’s Eve Fire Destroys Home

Just before 9:00 pm New Years Eve, a family’s 2018 ended tragically when their garage caught fire and spread to the house. Firefighters from Rural Metro Fire, and Grants Pass Department of Public Safety arrived to find the 2-story structure well-involved, with all occupants safely outside.

Hampered by very cold temperatures, first responders were able to quickly stop the spread of the fire, saving many personal belongings in the rest of the house from being further damaged.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. The occupants were reportedly outside preparing for new year celebrations and were not immediately alerted to the fire.
