Open 911 Call Leads to Arrest after Woman Threatens Deputies with a Knife and Her Dog

Very early Tuesday morning, March 5th, an open 9-1-1 call was received by Coos County Dispatch received with a female speaking incoherently while making threats to an unknown party on the cell phone just after 4:30am.  

The call was plotted in the Sea Port RV Park in Charleston and first responding deputies were informed en route that it sounded like the  woman was speaking to a dog and then knocking on a trailer door while yelling.  

The female in the RV park was located by first arriving deputies after exiting their vehicle and shining a flashlight on the woman, identifying as a Deputy with the Coos County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman, identified as as 37 year old Victoria Ramsey, of Coos County, stated to the deputy that she was going to stab him and sick her dog on him before advancing toward Deputy Smith from the front door of the trailer with a knife in her right hand.  

The deputy backed behind the fence line of the trailer property as the woman advanced towards the deputy who ordered the woman to drop the knife several times as she advanced toward the deputy refusing to comply before the deputy successfully incapacitated the woman deploying a taser.  

Victoria Ramsey was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Coos County Jail, where she was booked and processed for the crimes of Menacing, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Resisting Arrest.    

Correction:

Victoria Ramsey was not incapacitated by the taser. Deputy Smith was able to get her to drop the knife using several more verbal commands. She resisted his efforts to place her under arrest, eventually being placed in handcuffs and secured in his patrol car.
