Oregon Continues to Average 1,211 COVID-19 Cases per Day

After lock-downs and strict COVID-19 social distancing protocols, new COVID-19 cases in the state of Oregon continue to steadily rise. Oregon continues to average 1,211 per day in the past week, with 387 individuals requiring hospitalization in the past week.

According to the Oregon Health Authority, Oregon has tested approximately 2,875,000 individuals and 175,000 individuals have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. A total of 7,198 individuals have required hospitalization since the outbreak, and unfortunately 1,758 have died.

Still 59% of all cases are located in Multnomah, Washington, Marion, Clackamus and Linn counties with 76,952 of the states 131,000 COVID-19 cases. These same 5 counties are also responsible for 59% of the 1,758 deaths.

Curry County’s latest numbers as reported Friday by the Oregon Health Authority, January, 15th, now reports testing 6,590 individuals with 6,357 negative tests, 317 total positive COVID-19 tests and has recorded now 5 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

Del Norte County Department of Health and Human Services reported testing 12,182 individuals with 11,335 negative results, 41 active cases and 847 total confirmed cases reported by Public Health, with 1 current hospitalization and 2 deaths.

Coos County to the north, reported testing 25,016 individuals with 24, 194 negative tests, with now 926 total positive cases and 14 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

Josephine County reports testing 36,303 individuals with 34,093 negative results, 1689 total positive cases of COVID-19 and 31 deaths.

Humboldt County to the south of Del Norte County reports 2,263 total cases after testing 62,113 individuals with 59,850 negative results now 565 active cases, 1,674 recoveries, 78 hospitalizations, and 24 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic as of Friday, January, 15th.

Jackson County continues to see significant increases after testing 141,373 individuals with 132,821 negative test results, 6,806 total cases of COVID-19 with now 82 deaths as of Friday, December 18th.
