Oregon State Police Bomb Squad Disarms Suspicious Device During Coos Bay Arrest

The Coos Bay Police Department arrested a man on Sunday, March 24th, on probable cause from the Florence Police Department, regarding charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, aggravated theft I, theft by deception, forgery I, and identity theft.

The individual, identified as 32 year old Justentyme Lesher, was arrested at a residence in Coos Bay, where Coos Bay Police Department officers found and recovered some of the stolen property from the Florence Police Department case.  

Mr. Lesher was transported by the Oregon State Police to Reedsport and into the custody of the Florence Police Department before being transported to the Lane County Jail.  

A search warrant was executed at the Coos Bay residence after the arrest by Coos Bay Police Department officers, which found additional stolen or fraudulently obtained property and evidence of criminal activity.

During the execution of the search warrant, Coos Bay Police Department officers discovered a suspicious object inside the residence and requested assistance from the Oregon State Police Bomb Squad which was disarmed without incident.  

The criminal cases that resulted from Mr. Lesher’s arrest remain under investigation in partnership with surrounding law enforcement agencies.
