Rogue River Rafting Incident Leaves One Man Dead

At approximately  3:30 pm Tuesday afternoon, September 12th, Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies and fire personnel were dispatched to a call for a water rescue in the area of Ti’lomikh Falls on the Rogue River near Gold Hill.  

Dispatch received the call after a local guiding company raft flipped in the rapid and a 69-year-old man had a medical emergency.  

Bystanders started CPR until first responders from arrived on scene and took over. A Jackson County Fire District #1 rescue boat transported the patient to an awaiting ambulance before the ambulance brought the man to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 4:50 p.m.

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is conducting further investigations and no further information is available at this time.
