Series of Strong Early Morning Quakes Strike Off Alaskan Peninsula

A series of earthquakes struck off the Alaskan peninsula early Tuesday morning beginning with a magnitude 6.8.

At 3:35am, 6.8 magnitude quake, the first of a series of seven strong quakes, struck off the Aleutian Islands, followed by a 5.4 magnitude quake at 3:45am, and a 4.8 at 3:54am before another 6.6 magnitude quake struck at 4:39am, culminating with a 4.7 at 5:22am.

None of these quakes generated immediate tsunami warnings, or tsunami waves.
