Shift in Weather Pattern Brings Mild Temperatures and Sunny Skies for Work Week Forecast

A shift in the weather pattern has resulted in high pressure stationed over much of the region will causing strong inversions over valleys that will support air stagnation and the potential for deteriorating air quality. As a result, an Air Stagnation Advisory has been issued for much of the southwestern Oregon region, and remains in effect for the entire work week, from Saturday morning, January 22nd, through late Saturday afternoon, January, 29th.

Inland areas should expect late-night and early morning localized patchy fog possible for much of the valleys, with cool nights and early mornings, however, daytime high temperatures will likely be above normal. No significant precipitation is expected with low temperatures getting down to the upper 20’s, and high’s reaching the low 60’s.

Coastal areas are forecast to see mostly sunny skies with areas of localized fog in low lying areas. Temperatures are expected to remain mild with lows in the low 40’s and high temperatures reaching them mid 60’s.
