Suspect at Large in I-5 Shooting Death

On Sunday, March 17, at approximately 12:00 pm, the Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to the report of a shooting that had occurred on Interstate 5 south of the Harvard Ave on-ramp.

Witnesses reported a subject in a late model silver four-door sedan, possibly a Ford, with no license plates shot a male subject in a beige 1992 Honda Accord while traveling southbound at that location.

The two vehicles and possibly a third were observed traveling westbound on Harvard Ave. in Roseburg, just east of I-5 and then turning onto the southbound on-ramp to I-5 from Harvard Ave.

The suspect vehicle continued on Interstate 5 southbound. A witness described the driver of the silver car as a male in his 30’s wearing a red baseball cap.

The victim was transported to Mercy Medical Center in Roseburg for treatment of a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

Oregon State Police is requesting that anyone who may have seen an altercation between the victim vehicle, a beige 1992 Honda Accord, the suspect vehicle, a late model silver four-door sedan (possibly a Ford) with no license plates, with any information regarding this incident to contact Oregon State Police at *OSP or 911.

Do not attempt to contact the suspect as they consider the suspect armed and dangerous.

The investigation is continuing and no further information is available for release at this time.
