Teen Robbed at Gunpoint

Officers with the Grants Pass Dept. of Public Safety responded to a report of an armed robbery involving a gun at Reinhart Volunteer Park just before 8:30pm Monday evening, July 20th.

During the investigation, the 16-years-old male juvenile victim informed authorities that cash and other items of value had been taken from him forcibly while the suspect held him at gunpoint. Detectives identified two suspects, 21 year old Joseph Tripp and 18 year old Mitchell Savoie, both from Grants Pass. Tripp and Savoie were contacted and later lodged at the Josephine County Jail for Robbery in the First Degree.

Some of the property taken in the robbery has been recovered and returned to the victim and his family.

A third suspect is currently outstanding. There is no indication of threat to the public or anyone else at this time.
