The Bite is On!

John Kehoe (pictured left) and John Hosmer of Arizona brought home this 18 lb. beauty they hooked at about 11:00 AM Saturday morning.

The boat launches are busy. The trailer lots are full. It’s late September early October and the Brookings-Harbor air is crisp. It must be fall Chinook King season!

Fish and Game gives the thumbs up to Sergio Hernandez holding up his and Dave Lilienthal’s (not pictured) catch on the day.

It starts early in the morning when you see that the boat ramp is the busiest roadway in town. By mid-day, you begin to see those same people returning home, much like the salmon they are bringing back.

Brookings Guide Dustin Russell (not pictured here), made sure Horace Favalore from Antioch Ca. went home with some fresh salmon Saturday.

If you were to happen by the Brookings-Harbor fish cleaning station you would see the anglers with buckets of crab and many different types of fish being prepared, from the prized Chinook to Tuna.

Clearly, the bite is on.
