Isolated thunderstorms are possible beginning Saturday morning and persisting into early next week throughout the region as high level moisture enters the area.

Continued hot temperatures will combine with colder air moving in the upper atmosphere to bring isolated to scattered thunderstorms to the region Sunday. With extremely dry fuels both east and west of the Cascades, the probability of strikes causing quickly growing ignitions is very high.

A Fire Weather Watch remains in effect as gusty winds and low relative humidity is expected once again in the Illinois Valley and Rural portions of the Coastal Range on Saturday.

Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecast conditions will cause air quality levels to fluctuate and could be at unhealthy levels. These conditions have prompted the National Weather Service to issue an Air Quality Alert to be in effect until 11:00am Monday.
