U. S. Coast Guard Aircrew Medevac’s Injured Logger

On Friday, December 21st., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that there had been a logging accident at approximately 12:30pm in Coos County.

A North Bend Coast Guard aircrew responded to a request for a MEDEVAC of a logger who sustained a head injury 18 miles SE of Coos Bay and evacuated the 37-year-old man from the scene off Middle Creek Road and flew him to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield.

The crew safely transferred the logger and a paramedic from the Coquille Fire Department to Sacred Heart hospital in Eugene. His condition and the circumstances of the accident are not yet known. The man is believed to have suffered some   kind of neck injury, the sheriff’s office said.

The man’s name has not yet been released.
