Very late Monday night, CHP was dispatched to a crash at the intersection of Hwy. 101 and Fred Haight Drive in Smith River, CA.
Officers arrived to a scene in which an SUV traveling southbound on Hwy. 101 had left the roadway and slammed into a drive-up coffee kiosk located in the old Ray’s Market parking lot in Smith River, CA.
The Java Hut was closed at the time and there was nobody in the building when the crash occurred and the driver was not injured.
According to the CHP, 58 year old Karen Ilene McGruire was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence.
