7.2 Magnitude Quake Strikes Off Japan

The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck off the east coast of Japan very early Saturday morning at 2:09 pacific time.

The quake struck just 17 miles off the east coast of Ishinomaki, Japan, generated a tsunami warning, downgraded to a tsunami forecast for the east coast of Japan, but did not generate a Tsunami, or Tsunmi Warning to the west coast of the United States.
