Multiple Agencies including the United States Coast Guard Rescue Injured Man South of Depoe Bay

On Saturday morning, April 25th, multiple agencies, including Newport Fire Department, Lincoln County Technical Rescue Team, Oregon State Police, ODOT, Oregon State Parks, Pacific West Ambulance, and the United States Coast Guard were dispatched to Rocky Creek State Park, south of Depoe Bay, at approximately 9:15am, regarding a man in his 20s who had slipped on the rocks and injured his lower legs.

Personnel from the Depoe Bay Fire District accessed and stabilized the patient and determined that the injuries sustained by the individual merited requesting a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter to hoist the injured individual due to the difficult terrain.

The U.S. Coast Guard helicopter team safely lifted into the patient to helicopter, returned to the park, before being transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
