Cluster of Six Quakes Strike Off the Northwest Coast

On Wednesday, June 3rd, a series of six earthquakes struck off the northwest coast.

The first quake, measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale, struck early Wednesday morning 154 miles WSW of Pistol River, Oregon at approximately 3:53am.

The next quake struck at 5:45am, just over 60 miles SW of Eureka approximately 150 miles to the south, measuring 5.1 in magnitude, followed by a 4.4 magnitude quake just after 6:00am, a 2.8 at 8:00am and a 3.9 at 8:50am, with a final 4.5 magnitude quake at just after 7:35pm, all clustered within just miles of each other approximately 60 miles southwest of Eureka. 

No Tsunami’s or Tsunami warnings were generated or issued regarding these quakes.
