The Del Norte Unified School District released a statement Wednesday afternoon, March 31st, regarding a report of an armed individual in a vehicle.
Just before 1:00pm, the Principal at Pine Grove School was informed that an armed individual was seen in a vehicle outside of the school.
She and her staff immediately responded by contacting law enforcement and implementing a school-wide lock-down to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Due to the rapid response of local law enforcement agencies, the individual was taken into custody within minutes of the call.
The school district also stated that at the time statement, the school district had not been made updated by law enforcement regarding any connection between the individual and any student or school personnel, nor had they been notified of any other information regarding the situation.
No other details or information from the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office were available at the time of this report.
