Azalea Bruin Football Starts Season 1-1

Coming off a win against Riley Creek, the Azalea Bruin football team hosted a strong Winston team who made the trip to the coast Thursday afternoon.

After a first quarter AZ Bruin drive stalled near mid field, Winston took possession of the ball and drove down the field scoring just before the first period came to an end.

Leading 0-6 to start the second quarter, Winston would stop another Bruin drive before taking possession and running a sweep to the left side to score once again to take a 0-14 lead.

On the next AZ Bruin possession, coach Mike Hamilton called #87, Elisha Grundy’s number, sending him on a sweep to the right that he would break away for a 65 yard touchdown after outrunning the Winston defense.

Winston would score once more before the half, taking a 6-22 lead into the break that they would only extend in the second half to take the win.
