Azalea Bruins Girls Basketball Continue Their Winning Ways

The Azalea Bruins girls basketball team continued their winning ways Thursday evening hosting Bandon.

Defense is becoming their calling card as Azalea Bruins girls basketball’s smothering full court defense continues to shut down opponents holding the Bandon girls to just 5 points in the first period.

Offensively, the AZ Bruin girls can also score, putting up 15 points in first quarter, before holding the Bandon girls to just 2 points in the second period while add in 7 more points offensively to take a 22-7 lead into the half time break.

The AZ Bruin girls came out after the break and picked up right where they left off, with stifling defense holding the Bandon girls scoreless in the third as they extended their lead with with 8 more points in the period.

In the fourth period, the Bandon girls continued to struggle to get shots off getting just 2 points in the period as the Azalea Bruins girls put up another 8 points as they ran on Bandon off of defensive steals to take the win.

The Azalea Bruins girls will be on the road next Tuesday traveling to Pacific before taking on Myrtle Creek at Myrtle Creek next Thursday as they prepare for the Jay Cees tournament next weekend.
