Behind the Scene with Girls Head Soccer Coach Kyla Siri

The BHHS girls soccer team will open their league play this Monday, September 23, against Sutherlin on the road. The lady Bruins come off of two strong wins vs. St. Bernards and last year’s playoff opponent Lakeview last Thursday which have not came easy. This will be a big week for us. We have just come off of two games that have required us to be physical, and compete the entire game. This is a great place for the girls to be because they are seeing that their persistence pays off and they have been playing together really well these last two games. We have been working on continuing to find that next level of play for us. Last year the lady Bruins brought home two wins against Sutherlin. We are expecting our play to begin league play right where our preseason is leaving off, ready to compete. Going into league, the lady Bruins are ranked 8th in the OSAA ranking.

We are hoping to return Hannah James soon from injury and we have regained Lily Robbins and Lily Stockton from early season injuries. Our defense is going to be strong going into league led by Lexi Schofield and Cecilia Hilton. We are finding the pieces to our midfield and seeing some good things come together through multiple players that we have moved around there. I’m excited to see what this group will do. We are also eager to bring in Cascade Christian (ranked #2) and Catlin Gabel (ranked #4) as non-league games later this season to help prepare us for that next level play that we are after.
