BHHS Soccer Player Awarded Wendy’s Athlete of the Week

Each week throughout the school year, Wendy’s and the OSAA recognize varsity athletes that exhibited an outstanding performance during the previous week.

This week, Bruins senior striker Luke Beaman was singled out as the Wendy’s Athlete of the Week in varsity soccer. Luke Beaman has been one of the leaders for the Bruins as one of the team Captains for the Bruins on the field, as well as a performance leader throughout the season.

With just 7 games under the undefeated Bruins belt so far this 2018 season, Beaman has scored an incredible 25 goals with 5 assists.

In order to be considered for this recognition, all qualifying students are required to be in good academic standing, show leadership qualities and serve as role models in their communities.

When the Wild Coast Compass asked Luke for a statement he said, “I would like to thank the rest of the players on the team, I couldn’t have done this without their support on the field,” “and of course my Mom and Dad who have given me every opportunity to get this award.”

Each winner of the Wendy’s Athlete of the Week award will receive a letter of recognition from the OSAA Executive Director, a commemorative OSAA State Athlete of the Week promotional item, a gift from Wendy’s, and a certificate. Winners are announced weekly on the OSAA website and across OSAA social media platforms.

The Wild Coast Compass would like to congratulate Luke Beaman on achieving this award and wish him continued success into the future.
