Bomb Threat Evacuates Brookings Business

The Brookings Police Department Dispatch transferred a call from Blue Pacific Reality to the Curry County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch on Monday, July 22, at about 12:00 pm, regarding a bomb threat.

A Realtor who works for Blue Pacific in Harbor told the Sheriff’s Office she received an email stating there were three pipe bombs in the building and they needed to send $10,000 for instructions on how to disarm the bombs.

The Harbor Fire Department responded along with Sheriff’s Detectives and once the building was evacuated, a search was conducted. After a complete search and no bombs were located, it was determined that the building was safe and the employees were allowed to go back to work.

The Curry County Sheriff’s Office will continue the investigation on where the email may have originated from.
