Boys and Girls Bruin Basketball Finish Season Strong… Begin Post Season Play Today

Boys and girls Bruin basketball finished their regular seasons strong, with the girls putting together two very one sided victories and the Bruin boys closing out the season with three straight wins.

The Bruin girls finished off their season completely dominating St. Mary’s Tuesday and then crushing Rogue River in games where they totaled 144 points of offense while allowing only 22 points scored against them combined in the two games.

The Bruin boys games, were not quite as one sided while still victories in the win column, but the three consecutive wins finished off a 7-1 record at end of the season that undoubtedly positioned them in post season play.

With the regular season now behind them, the Bruin girls will be hosting their first game of the post season this evening, Tuesday, February 14, after finishing the season ranked 17th by the OSAA, and will tip-off against the #25 ranked Douglas Lady Trojans who handed the Bruin girls a close 36-40 in their only meeting earlier in the season.

As for the Bruin boys, currently ranked #25 by the OSAA, they will be on the road to Coquille to take on the #22 ranked Red Devils who defeated the Bruin boys by 14 points earlier in the season in the two teams only meeting this season.

The Bruin boys will travel to Coquille Tuesday, with a tip-off at 7:00pm.

The Bruin girls will tip-off at Bruins Arena at 6:00pm, in what promises to be a battle to not only avenge an earlier season close loss for the surging Bruin girls, but to also advance to next round of post-season play.
