Crash Closes Hwy. 199 for 2 Hours

At 8:15 pm, Saturday, December 28th, the Illinois Valley Fire District and American Medical Response were dispatched to a bicycle rider versus vehicle crash on Hwy. 199 near Reeves Creek between Kerby and Selma.

Hwy. 199 was closed in both directions for over two hours until about 11:00 pm.

The cyclist was transported by American Medical Response to Rural Metro Fire station 4 located on Hwy. 199, transferred to Mercy Flights and flown to Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by Oregon State Police.
