Curry County Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Burglar after Being Alerted By Homeowner Watching Remotely

Curry County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call on Friday, April 10th, from a homeowner reporting that their residence in central Curry County was actively being burglarized.

Deputies were immediately dispatched and responded to the residence assisted by the Oregon State Police and a Gold Beach Police Officer as the homeowner, who was away from home, was monitoring the burglary real-time through their in-home surveillance system.

Upon arrival to the scene, Sheriff’s Deputies quickly made entry into the home to find that the suspect had fled through a back door upon their arrival and deputies began canvassing the area.

Minutes later, the suspect was located by a deputy hiding in the heavily wooded area behind the home who then  was apprehend the suspect without further incident.

30 year old Travis J. Minor was arrested and transported to the Curry County Jail before being booked into the Curry County Jail on charges including 1st Degree Burglary, 3rd Degree Theft and 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief.
