Domestic Disturbance Evolves into Officer Involved Shooting

Very early Saturday morning, April 2nd, Medford Police officers were dispatched to a Medford residence regarding a domestic disturbance at approximately 4:30am, after it was reported that a male subject, possibly under the influence, and associated with a vehicle outside the residence, was threatening to commit suicide by firearm.

When officers arrived on scene, the subject was gone, and officers began checking the area. At 4:55am, the male returned in a vehicle, and officers stopped him on near the residence. The male suspect exited the vehicle with a gun to his head and fired the gun.

At least one officer on scene fired in response. No officers were hit, and the suspect sustained a non life threatening gunshot wound and is in stable condition at a local hospital.
