Two officers with the Crescent City Police Department Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant in the 2400 block of Le Clair Avenue in Crescent City on on Thursday, March 26th, regarding possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material investigation.
Almost 3000 files of child sexual abuse imagery were located on devices that were seized after being discovered by Investigators pursuant to the warrant which subsequently led to the arrest of 31 year old Levi Levitt of Crescent City, who was a current resident at the location.
During the course of the investigation, evidence was discovered that Levitt had also sexually abused at least one younger child on multiple occasions at the same location.
Levitt also admitted to these crimes and was initially booked into the Del Norte County Jail for violation of possession and distribution of Child Sexual Assault Material, a violation of the California Penal Code.
Investigators continue to follow up on additional information that was uncovered during execution of the warrant as the Crescent City Police Department and the Del Norte County District Attorney’s Office work together on further charges to be added when Levitt is arraigned later this week.
