Firefighters Rescue Fallen Horse

On Tuesday afternoon, just after 4:00 pm, Rural Metro Firefighters assisted with the extraction of a horse from a ditch.

Crews arrived to find the equine upside-down, possibly after slipping from the muddy ground from recent rains.

Rural Metro Firefighter crews that responded, several of which are horse owners and skilled in “large animal rescue”, were able to get the injured horse out with the help of family, and evaluated by a veterinarian.
