High Temperatures Forecast to Peak Before Cooling Slightly Going into Weekend

High temperatures are forecast to peak across most interior valleys in southern Oregon and northwest California with the highest temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday of the work week.

Temperatures are forecast to reach triple digits in some areas inland, with Red Flag Warnings in the inland valleys of northern California and very southern mid eastern Oregon with gusty winds and low relative humidity possible into mid week. Clear skies will keep the region dry as temperatures remain high into mid week, slowly cooling minimally going into the weekend.

Coastal areas will continue to see mostly sunny skies and warm temperatures as the work week progresses, with the upper level trough of high pressure slowly moving east and ushering in increased cloudiness. Early morning localized fog will continue with a stubborn marine layer persisting into late morning hours. Temperatures will remain steady in the upper 60’s, possibly reaching 70 degrees in some locations.
