Klondike Fire Adds 13,300 Acres Over Weekend

The Klondike Fire remains active adding approximately 13,300 acres since last Thursday, August 30th. The Klondike Fire now sits at 106,653 acres and 42% contained, while the Taylor Creek Fire is at 52,839 acres and 95% contained.

Northeast to north winds are expected which will result in smoke impacts across much of the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest to the south of the Klondike fire. Smoke will occasionally impact the Brookings area, especially morning and overnight and smoke may also impact the Gold Beach area at times. Merlin, Grants Pass, and the Highway 199 corridor may be impacted by smoke from the new fire near Hugo today.
