Man Air-Lifted to Safety After Falling at Base of Lost Creek Falls

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Search and Rescue responded to reports of a man who had fallen from Lost Creek Falls near Shale City Road outside of Ashland late Wednesday afternoon, October 5th.  

Jackson County Fire District 5 responded along with a Search and Rescue rescue helicopter, provided by Brim Aviation, to hoist the subject from the base of the falls.

The man was airlifted to an awaiting Mercy Flights helicopter and is receiving treatment at a local hospital.  

The patient’s condition is unknown at this time.
