Man Arrested After Threatening School

After receiving an anonymous tip via SafeOregon, the statewide school safety tip line, Oregon State Police Troopers became aware of a person making threats of violence through Twitter towards the Oregon State University and community.

Troopers and Detectives identified the owner of the username “Hard Belly Dorm” as Christopher Adam Strahan, age 22, of Corvallis. Strahan was located and contacted outside a residence in Corvallis.

On February 27, 2018, at about 12:20 p.m., at about 2:30 p.m., he was taken into custody for making threats of violence towards the Oregon State University and community. He was booked and lodged at the Benton County Correctional Facility for disorderly conduct 1.

Oregon State Police was assisted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the OSU Department of Public Safety, Corvallis Police Department and the Benton County Mental Health Department.

At this time, there is no known threat to public safety. This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released when available.
