Very early, Friday morning, April 12th, a call was received at the North Coos 9-1-1 Center from a resident in Coos Bay just before 1:00am, requesting help from police and medical personnel for a man who had been shot after breaking into their home.
Officers from the Coos Bay Police Department arrived, took custody of the suspect, identified as 28 year old David Holmes of North Bend, and aided with medical care until medics arrived.
Mr. Holmes was shot by a resident of the home after he broke in with a golf club.
The residents of the home reported that they did not know Mr. Holmes, were cooperative with Coos Bay Police officers and provided statements.
Mr. Holmes was transported by Bay Cities Ambulance to receive further medical attention.
