Medford Fire Department Contains Structure Fire Quickly

Medford Fire Department, along with Medford Police officers and crews from Fire District 3 were dispatched to a residential structure fire Saturday evening, November 26th.

First arriving units quickly contained the fire to the kitchen area upon arrival, where the fire is reported to have originated.

The residents were alerted to the fire after hearing a loud noise in the kitchen and discovered the fire which is believed to have been caused by improper disposal of hot materials in a trash can.

No injuries were reported and everyone was able to exit the residence safely.

Fire crews noted that the home had a single smoke alarm that was beyond ten years old and non-functioning.

New working smoke alarms were installed by fire crew personnel to ensure the resident’s safety and the residents were able to re-occupy the home.
