Authorities Search for Man Who Fired Gun During Event at Josephine County Fairgrounds

Just before midnight, Saturday, November 26th, Grants Pass Police officers responded to the Josephine County Fairgrounds to reports of a man firing a gun.  

Due to the rapidly evolving incident, law enforcement requested Three Rivers Medical Center lockdown while a search of the Fairgrounds was underway. Grants Pass Police officers and Oregon State Troopers cleared the Fairgrounds and confirmed the suspect had already fled.  

No one was injured at a private party being held at the Fairgrounds when a subject fired a firearm into the ceiling of the building.  The suspect’s connection to the event is still being determined. Grants Pass Police detectives responded to assist with the criminal investigation.

The suspect, described as a 30-40 year old Hispanic male, approximately five foot ten with dark hair wearing a green and black shirt with blue jeans, fled the scene in a dark-colored pickup in an unknown direction.
