O’Brien Raid Results in Seizure and Destruction of more than 5,700 Marijuana Plants, and 1 Arrest

The Josephine Marijuana Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at an address in O’Brien on Redwood Highway 199, regarding an illegal marijuana grow site last Friday, June 23rd.

With the assistance of Rogue Area Drug Enforcement, Oregon State Police, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the search warrant was executed at the O’Brien address, and more than 5,700 marijuana plants were seized and destroyed.

The property also had multiple water and solid waste code violations cited by Josephine County Public Health & Building Safety, which could result in the criminal forfeiture of the property.

56 year old David Joy was taken into custody and lodged at the Josephine County Jail for Unlawful Manufacturing of Marijuana and Unlawful Appropriation of Water.

At the time of this press release the investigation is ongoing and no further details are being released.
