Oregon Under 280 Cases Per Day.., Curry County To Remain ‘High Risk’

Oregon continues to see significant declines in COVID-19 infection rates fall again for the 5th straight week with now just 279 new cases per day with 1,957 new COVID-19 cases across the state in the past week. Continuing to hold one of the lowest infection rates in the nation, Oregon COVID-19 now has a total of 160,994 cases. Hospitalizations continued to stay low in the past week than the week prior, adding only 269 individuals requiring hospitalization, raising the statewide total to 8,983. 38 individuals succumbed to COVID-19 in the past week, making the total deaths for the entire state of Oregon, 2,319 since the pandemic began.

Curry County continues to see more new COVID-19 cases across the county, and will remain in the ‘High Risk’ category in Governor Brown’s ‘Risk Assessment’ matrix.

Curry County’s latest numbers as reported Friday by the Oregon Health Authority, March 20th, now reports testing 9,581 individuals with 9,157 negative tests, 424 total positive COVID-19 tests and after adding 39 new cases in the last week has recorded 508 total cases and now 8 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

Del Norte County Department of Health and Human Services reported testing 13,609 with 12,514 negative results, 42 active cases and 1,095 total confirmed cases reported by Public Health, with 0 current hospitalizations and now 5 deaths.

Coos County to the north, reported testing 40,234 individuals last week with 38,118 negative results, 1,774 total positive cases and 23 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

Josephine County reports testing 58,777 individuals with 55,818 negative results, 2,612 total positive cases of COVID-19 and now 59 deaths.

Humboldt County to the south of Del Norte County reports 3,419 total cases after testing 78,531 individuals with 75,112 negative results, 100 active cases, 3,284 recoveries, 135 hospitalizations, and 34 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic as of Friday, March 20th.

Jackson County continues to see significant increases after testing 195,560 individuals with 182,338 negative test results, 8,913 total cases of COVID-19 with now 120 deaths as of Friday, March 20th.
