Person Suspected of Passing Counterfeit Money, Arrested with Over 42 Grams of Suspected Methamphetamine

The Crescent City Police responded to Tractor Supply, at approximately 8:00pm, Monday evening, December 20th, regarding a report of a subject attempting to pass a counterfeit twenty-dollar bill.  

A description of the subject was obtained by Tractor Supply staff as the suspected individual left the parking lot, describing the person as driving a white van with “Josh Train Painting” on the it.

The described van and driver, identified as 42 year old Joshua Train, were located by Crescent City Police as the subject was traveling in the 1000 block of US Hwy 101.

During the subsequent investigation, Lt. Kai was deployed and alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from inside the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle and of Train’s person Officer located several plastic baggies that contained 46.22 grams of suspected methamphetamine, a digital scale, and a methamphetamine pipe.

The suspected counterfeit twenty-dollar bill was recovered from the store location, and upon completion of their investigation, Train was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales, transportation of a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia and was transported and booked at the Del Norte County Jail.
