Quick Start for Lady Bruins Volleyball against South Umpqua

On Tuesday, September 24th, the Lady Bruin varsity volleyball team traveled to Myrtle Creek to take on the 8-3 #4 OSAA ranked Lady Lancers. The new look high energy Lady Bruins stepped on the court ready to play.

The Lady Bruins shocked the Lady Lancers in the first match attacking the net and getting the ball into the Lady Lancer half of the court and then capitalizing on Lady Lancer mistakes on their way to winning the first match.

As a team, the Lady Bruins had 26 kills from 7 different Lady Bruins, led by junior #11 Gracie Harms who was responsible for 7 of the 26.

Again junior Sierra Fitzhugh #5 led at the net with 5 blocks and junior Valerie Tribble had 3 of the 11 team blocks.

But it is the digs that show the hard work as a determined Lady Bruin team fought to get the ball off the ground and over the net. 9 Lady Bruins made it into the dig stat column led by junior Gracie Harms with 12 and junior Shelby Jirsa #4 had 11 of the 55 total team digs.

The Lady Bruins will be at home TONIGHT against the Lady Trojans from Douglas High School at 6:00pm.
