Search Warrant Leads to 16 firearms, One Flare Launcher, Cocaine and Two Arrests

The Humboldt County Drug Task Force Agents, with the Fortuna Police Department and the Rio Dell Police Department, served a search warrant Wednesday, January 24th, at a residence in Rio Dell according to a Humboldt County Drug Task Force press release.

When authorities arrived at the residence, agents located and detained 43 year old Adam Smith and his son, 26 year old Noah Smith, both from Rio Dell without incident.

Once the scene was secure, Agents and Officers searched the residence and located 16 firearms, one flare launcher, 25 grams of cocaine, multiple digital scales, packaging materials, and indicia of drug sales.

Two of the firearms were non-serialized AR-15’s, three of the firearms were illegally possessed assault weapons, and Fortuna Police Department K9 Cain assisted in this search warrant positively alerting to the narcotics that were located.

Adam Smith was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on multiple charges including, Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed, Possession of Controlled Substance for Sales, Possession of an Assault Weapon, Possession of a Short-Barreled Rifle, and Manufacturing or Assembling a Firearm.

Noah SMITH was transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked on multiple charges including, Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed, Possession of an Assault Weapon, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
