Selma Man Shoots Vehicle in Road Rage Incident

According to the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, a Selma man is in custody after reportedly firing shots at another vehicle in a “road rage incident” while traveling on Hwy. 199.

Deputies met up with the victims at a location on Hogue Drive in Selma and took down their statements.

Further investigation of the reports revealed that gunshots had been fired into the rear bumper of the victims’ vehicle as they drove southbound on Hwy 199. No one was injured in the vehicle.

Frederick Savage III

Deputies were able to track down a suspect, identified as Frederick Savage III. According to the Josephine County Sheriff, Savage told them that he had been upset with the victims’ “erratic driving,” which led to him to begin firing upon them.

Savage was arrested without incident and lodged in the Josephine County Jail on three counts of Attempted Assault 1, three counts of Reckless Endangering, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Criminal Mischief 1.
