Caltrans initiated a full closure of Highway 101 after a slide blocking both lanes was reported just 15 miles south of Crescent City at Last Chance Grade at approximately 9:45am early Tuesday morning.
Just after 11:30am, one lane of Hwy. 101 was opened with controlled conditions as crews rushed to clear the slide south of Crescent City.
