Snow Continues to Accumulate

Winter impacts continue as numerous showers bring snow to the area today into Saturday. Snow levels will be near 500 feet this morning, rising to 1500 to 2000 feet during the afternoon then lowering again to western valley floors tonight and Saturday morning.

Moderate to heavy snow will impact western portions of the area today into Saturday morning. This will create very hazardous travel with slippery, snow-covered roads, and periods of poor visibility due to heavy snow and/or blowing snow.

You will want to plan now to avoid traveling during the storm. If you must travel, take extra precautions when driving and carry an emergency kit with chains, flashlight, batteries, blankets, food, water, and medications. Be prepared for wintry travel conditions and be sure to check road conditions before venturing out.

You can call 511 for Oregon or California road conditions (while you’re in either state).
