The Brookings Harbor Food bank will be open tomorrow from 10 AM to 5 PM.
The Community based food bank is extending their regular hours to give extra support to our community during this time of special needs because of the forest fire. We hope to reach families and those in need are unable to get to the food bank during regular hours.
What is happening is that families are taking in other people who have been evacuated and those good Samaritans’ pantries may be running low because of this.
In addition, the food bank is taking both cash and food donations of non-perishable items. The food bank is located at 539 Hemlock St. Brookings, their phone number is 541-469-6988.
If someone is unable to get to the food bank during normal hours or during tomorrow’s extended hours, please call Connie Hunter at 602-541-5903. Special arrangements willl be made to get emergency food boxes to those in need outside of those hours.
