Just before 6:00pm, Monday, December 5th, Medford Police units were dispatched to reports of an armed robbery in progress at Mountain Mikes Pizza located on E Barnett Rd, in Medford.
Witnesses provided the clothing description of the suspect, his direction of travel, and stated he was armed with a handgun.
A patrol unit in the area located the suspect nearby and took him into custody without incident and the money taken in the robbery was recovered.
The suspect discarded the weapon prior to contact with officers, however, the weapon was located in the parking lot of a nearby business.
No one was injured or harmed during the incident.
The name of the suspect is being withheld at this time due to an ongoing investigation.
